Audio Equipment

In this lesson, we went into the TV Studio where we were taught the basics of audio recording. First, we were told about the aspects of audio, including frequency and bit depth. The higher these are, the higher quality that your audio will sound, being less compressed and smoother. We went over the different settings on the H4n Pro’s to change the frequency/bit depth and the sensitivity. We then learnt how to set it up, with a shotgun mic, a boom pole and a H1 with small clip-on mics. With this we went out and filmed some short audio clips on a weather report. This was quite fun, however with two people it was difficult to control all the equipment at one time.
